The 50th Seattle International Film Festival will close with Greg Kwedar’s Sing Sing from A24 on Saturday, May 18 at SIFF Cinema Downtown and will be followed by a party at the Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI) to celebrate the close of the Festival and 50 years of surprising cinema.
Sing Sing, which premiered at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival and most recently at SXSW winning the Audience Award, follows Divine G (Colman Domingo) as he finds purpose by acting in a theatre group while being incarcerated at Sing Sing for a crime he didn’t commit. Starring a cast of formerly incarcerated actors, Sing Sing is a stirring true story exploring resilience, humanity, and the transformative power of art.
Director and co-writer Greg Kwedar will be in attendance and participate in a Q&A after the screening along with members of the film’s ensemble cast, who will receive a Golden Space Needle Award for excellence in Ensemble Acting.
Following the screening, SIFF will celebrate the close of the festival and 50 years of cinema with a birthday-themed bash at MOHAI featuring live music from DJ Paco, libations from The Walls, Black Raven Brewing, The Pathfinder and Tito's Handmade Vodka. The Closing Night Party will feature a night of philanthropic fun with raffle prizes, a silent auction, dancing, drinks and bites – all complimentary with your ticket.
Tickets for the Closing Night Film & Party are available now online at siff.net/passes and in person at SIFF Cinema box offices and are $76.50 for SIFF members and $86.50 for the general public. Party-only tickets are also available for $46.50 for SIFF members and $51.50 for the general public.

The 50th Seattle International Film Festival screens in theaters across the city May 9–19, followed by a week of select films streaming on the SIFF Channel May 20–27.
Passes and ticket packages are on sale now at siff.net/passes. Individual tickets will go on sale to SIFF members on April 17, and to the general public on April 18, 2024.
