PUNTO y RAYA Festival 2025 Activities Programme
The ninth edition of the Punto y Raya Festival is coming to Sofia, Bulgaria, with five days of pure form, colour, movement and sound. The leading event in Abstract Art in Motion will take place from 3 to 7 December 2025 at NATFA National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts and Dom Na Kinoto / Cinema House. As always, we will celebrate the most outstanding achievements of recent years, revisit great classics, delve into the creative process of key artists, and offer our traditional meeting points for creators and lovers of the genre.

ACTIVITIES SCHEDULE
This section presents the 99 short films from 37 countries participating in the PyR 2025 Official Competition. They are structured into six 75-minute modules that will be screened at Dom Na Kinoto . PyR25 statuettes will be awarded to the winning works.
This section celebrates the new generation of abstract animators and presents 31 short films from 12 different countries. These will be evaluated by a jury of students and teachers.
We will open the festival with an abstract Panorama from the Balkans, curated by Radostina Neykova (BG, WFAF festival). To close, Zsolt Gyenes (HU) will present his Hungarian audiovisual art Panorama.
Immerse yourself in the work and creative process of renowned artists with our Masterclasses and Retrospectives: Paul Fletcher (AU), Mario Radev (BG/UK), Max Hattler (DE/HK), Sune Petersen (DK), Toni Mitjanit (ES) and Myriam Boucher (CA).
Myriam Boucher (CA) will create immersive worlds that bridge the tangible and the ethereal in Memories. Meanwhile, Mario Radev (BG/UK) will captivate us with his live drawings in Entelequia: A Life in Loops. And Pattern/Sound - Deuterium AV by Max Hattler (DE/HK) and Sune Petersen (DK) will mesmerise us with its hypnotic interplay of light, movement and sound.
The ninth edition of the ‘world's most abstract’ festival is a co-production between MAD (ES, creators of Punto y Raya), NATFA National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts (BG) and WFAF Festival (BG), with financial support from the OSIC Programme - Generalitat de Catalunya (ES), City University (HK), Australian Government (AU), Université de Montréal (CA) and Pannónia (HU).
