73SSIFF - Let´s get started

Tomorrow we dive into the festival whirlwind. The 73rd edition of the San Sebastián Film Festival will be held from September 19 to 27.
This morning we woke up to the great news that actress Angelina Jolie will be joining Louis Garrel and Garance Marillie for the presentation of COUTURE this Sunday. These are the latest names to join the long list of already confirmed guests, including Juliette Binoche, Paul Dano, Harris Dickinson, Matt Dillon, Colin Farrell, Denis Lavant, Charlotte Rampling, Renate Reinsve and Stellan Skarsgård; Olivier Assayas, Edward Berger, Arnaud Desplechin, Claire Denis, Hasan Hadi, Lucile Hadzihalilovic, Agnieszka Holland, Richard Linklater, Kleber Mendonça Filho, François Ozon, Jafar Panahi, Raoul Peck, Joachim Trier and Rebecca Zlotowski. Plus the Donostia Awards: Esther García and Jennifer Lawrence. I won’t list the entire “Spanish team” because they wouldn’t even fit on a thousand websites.
The world premiere of 27 Nights (27 noches), by Uruguayan filmmaker Daniel Hendler, will open tomorrow the Official Competition Section of the 73rd edition of the San Sebastián Film Festival.
For the second consecutive year, the galas of the San Sebastián Film Festival will be written and directed by El Terrat (The Mediapro Studio). Silvia Abril, Toni Acosta and Itziar Ituño will host the Opening Ceremony on Friday, September 19 at 8:30 p.m., during which Esther García will receive her Donostia Award and the Grand FIPRESCI Prize will be presented. The Official Jury will be introduced before the screening of 27 Nights by Daniel Hendler. The gala will be broadcast live on La 2 de TVE, RTVE Play, ETB1, eitb.eus and the Festival’s website.
On those same channels, the Closing Ceremony will air on Saturday, September 27 at 9:00 p.m., hosted by Itsaso Arana. The awards of the 73rd edition will be presented there, followed by the screening of Winter of the Crow.
