The Awakening: new film starring Kevin Spacey

Peter Stormare (Fargo, John Wick: Chapter 2) and Alice Eve (Star Trek Into Darkness, Men in Black) star in the action-packed thriller The Awakening.
Cast introduces Justin Tinto and The World’s Strongest Man” Eddie Hall (Expendables 4) with Matt Hookings (Prizefighter) and Academy Award-winning Kevin Spacey (House of Cards, The Usual Suspects, American Beauty) rounding out the cast, it was announced today.
Matt Routledge directs the feature produced by Camelot Films who also financed the movie alongside Justin Tinto. Currently in post-production, the screenplay is co-written by Justin Tinto, Matt Routledge & Matt Hookings.
Additional cast appearing in the film includes Steve Berkoff (Red 2, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and Julian Glover (Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade, Game of Thrones).
Heads of department include Editor Chris Gill (Kneecap, 28 Days Later), Director of Photography Laszlo Bille (Bladerunner 2049, Dune: Part One) and Stunt Coordinator Luke Tumber (Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One, Venom: The Last Dance).
The Awakening is produced by Matt Hookings and Tim Kent, and executive produced by Justin Tinto,
Sally Woodward, Adrian Goodisman, and Cloud9 Studios’ Pia Patatian.
Producer and global sales executive Pia Patatian is handling worldwide rights for the film at the upcoming Marche du Film through her newly launched production, sales and financing company Cloud9 Studios.
The Awakening follows Jason (Justin Tinto) and Rebecca (Alice Eve) as they uncover a conspiracy to control the world. Their investigation leads them into a maze of secrets, making their quest to expose the truth in a thrilling race against time.

Peter Stormare first gained notoriety for his performance in the Coen brothers’ black comedy Fargo. Since then, he has accumulated an extensive list of feature credits spanning the full range of genres and including John Wick: Chapter 2, Penguins of Madagascar, 22 Jump Street, Bad Boys II and Minority among many others.
Alice Eve’s earned experience in television dramas as well as two plays by Trevor Nunn and the play "Rock 'n' Roll" by Tom Stoppard before landing her first film role in Starter for 10 opposite James McAvoy, followed by Big Nothing alongside Simon Pegg. American audiences were introduced to Alice in Crossing Over. Since that debut, she has appeared in Sex and the City 2, Men In Black, Bombshell and Star Trek: Into Darkness.
Multi-talented Matt Hookings is an Actor, Producer, Writer and Founder of Camelot Films. Matt wrote and played Jem Belcher in Amazon Studio’s Prizefighter starring alongside Russell Crowe, Ray Winstone, Jodhi May and Marton Csokas. His other screen credits include The Grand Duke of Corsica and Gravitas Winter Ridge of which he served as action, producer and writer on.
Eddie Hall aka “The Beast” earned the title of the World’s Strongest Man in 2017 lifting 500KG off the ground which hasn’t been beaten since. His feature credits include appearances in Expendables 4 and Paramount Pictures Transformers: The Last Knight.
Justin Tinto trained at the Actors Studio at Pinewood Studios where he first met and worked with Tim Kent. Tinto relocated to Los Angeles and landed the lead in director Matt Routledge’s Award-winning Film Manipulation. This short film has been recognized with numerous awards including two Best Actor nods from Oniros Film Awards and Top Indie Film Awards.
Kevin Spacey is an Academy Award winning actor of screen and stage, as well as a film director, producer, screenwriter and singer. His first Academy Award, Best Supporting Actor for The Usual Suspects was followed by an Academy Award, Best Actor for American Beauty. His other starring roles have included Seven, Glengarry Glen Ross and L.A. Confidential to name just a few. In live theatre, Spacey won a Tony Award for his role in “Lost in Yonkers” and was the artistic director of the Old Vic theatre in London from 2004 until 2015. Spacey has played Frank Underwood in the Netflix political drama series “House of Cards” earning a Golden Globe Award and Emmy Award nomination for Best Actor.
Cloud9 Studios’ slate also includes the newly announced thriller Old Man in the Dunes starring Aaron Eckhart, Barry Levinson’s thriller Assassination starring Academy Award-winners Jessica Chastain, Brendan Fraser and Al Pacino, and six-time Emmy-winner Bryan Cranston; the romantic comedy Under the Stars starring Toni Collette and Andy Garcia, which Patatian produced; and the supernatural horror thriller Unmerciful Good Fortune starring Rosario Dawson.
