 New Films In The Program

New additions to the lineup include the hauntingly heart-felt film Arcadian directed by Ben Brewer (the lauded visual effects artist behind Everything Everywhere All At Once) and starring Nicolas Cage

And we're thrilled to host the festival premiere of two-time Academy-Award Nominee Don Hertzfeldt's mysterious new animated musical Me, with an extended conversation with Hertzfeldt following the screening.

Special Guests are the...Tastiest...Guests

 

Also making special appearances at The Overlook this year are:

  • John Cameron Mitchell, the writer, director, and actor behind acclaimed work such as Hedwig and the Angry Inch, moderating the previously announced Q&A with the legendary Paul Williams following the 50th Anniversary screening of Phantom of the Paradise, presented by FANGORIA.
  • David Dastmalchian will return to The Overlook after joining in 2023 with his film Late Night with the Devil.  This year, he'll once again appear as horror movie host, Dr. Fearless, introducing the 70th anniversary screening of Creature from the Black Lagoon in 3D! He will also be the guest on the live recording of the podcast, Scream Dreams, presented by AMP.
  • Larry Fessenden, renowned horror icon, will accompany his terrifying new film, Blackout.

IMMERSIVE EVENTS

The Overlook brings two more immersive experiences to the schedule, including E3W Productions' return to the festival with the world premiere of a never before seen chapter of their series In Another Room, presented by The Murder Mystery Company and WildKat Sports. Participants must help Madame Eleanor, one of New Orleans’ most popular (and fraudulent) mediums, conduct a private reading for an unsuspecting guest.

Celebrate the 30th anniversary of Interview with a Vampire at The Overlook's opening night party, featuring Figure, known for his Monsters series and the creator of the soundtrack for Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights, and LadyBEAST, New Orleans-based performance artist working to inspire and shock audiences as they redefine the meaning of the word "circus"!

Join The Overlook before the Fest at the Prytania Theatre for our Sunday Great Horror Remake Series!  On March 24, feel the otherwordly chill of The Thing, and on March 31, check out the reimagining of The Blob! Both features at 10 p.m. at the Prytania Uptown.
