Myriad Pictures picked international sales and distribution rights for survival action-thriller, WALKING SUPPLY

Myriad Pictures is pleased to announce that it has acquired international sales and distribution rights for survival action-thriller, WALKING SUPPLY from Ireland based Brick Lane Entertainment, Kemodo Entertainment, and Mountain Man Media. Myriad will commence sales at the Cannes Marche du Film. Celebrated stuntman Derek Barnes directs a script he co-wrote with stars James McDougall (BECKY) and Douglas Nyback (“Incorporated,” “Defiance”). Joel Labelle and Ian Matthews round out the cast. Bruno Marino (GRIDLOCKED), James Mark (FIGHT ANOTHER DAY), and Todd Slater (KING OF KILLERS) produced the film.

WALKING SUPPLY tells the horrifying survival story of three men who escape a Russian labor camp and must overcome the treacherous wilderness and each other as their journey turns into a brutal fight for survival. The film opens with an armed raid on the Russian offices of an international corporation. Brutally kidnapped and taken hostage, some of the workers end up in a labor camp in the middle of nowhere. Two hardened inmates Kurt (Douglas Nyback) and Anthony (Joel Labelle), save Henry (James McDougall) from the lecherous grip of another inmate and his henchman (Ian Matthews). Henry finds himself in a position to help his new associates escape igniting a chaotic prison break that engulfs the men and the other prisoners. Those who make it out alive will face several weeks of deadly terrain and grueling obstacles in their quest to survive.

Derek Barnes said, “As a stuntman turned filmmaker, WALKING SUPPLY is a dream come true. From dangling off cliffs to falling into frozen lakes, climbing up mountains and smashing trucks through gates – this is the type of high octane, independent, venturous project that I’ve always wanted to tackle. The cast and crew braved the elements with relentless spirit, allowing us to turn this wild idea of a passion project into a reality.”

“Derek Barnes and his team have crafted an action-packed thriller that grabs you by the throat from the first scene and never lets go,” says Scott Bedno, Myriad Pictures’ SVP of Distribution and Acquisitions.  “The action is set against the backdrop of a stunning visual landscape that acts as a brutal adversary to the men and their will to survive,” he continued.

While climbing the film industry ranks from craft guy to stunt coordinator, Derek Barnes was making short films on through his company Mountain Man Media. The two worlds collided as Derek began filming and editing action sequence “pre-vis” for large network shows such as Star Trek: Discovery, The Boys, and Titans. After honing his filmmaking skills for over a decade, Derek invested his life savings to help produce his feature film directorial debut, WALKING SUPPLY.

James McDougall is an actor and screenwriter represented by Karen Williams-Posival of The Characters Talent Agency.
